Eleven years ago, back in 2006, Jon Meacham, the editor of Newsweek and Sally Quinn, an American author and journalist, who writes about religion for a blog at The Washington Post, put an amazing opportunity on Newsweek's “On Faith” website - the website is still up, you can access it at https://www.onfaith.co/onfaith/ - for people to comment on who they thought Jesus was.
Some of the comments were downright shocking, to the point of making one’s blood run cold, ranging from “We don’t know many historical facts concerning Jesus, but apparently he was a rabbi who was an example of compassion. Since then he has been exploited by Christians, particularly Americans” to “Honestly - I don’t care about Jesus. Who or what he was, is or isn’t doesn’t affect me”.
Oh people! Some of these comments make me sick to the stomach with fear for the people who write them!
These poor, lost souls have NO IDEA what lies ahead for them in the coming years.
And it is all because of YOU and ME. It is US that have not been doing what we were commanded to by Jesus when He left the planet to return home to His Father in heaven.
I thought it would be an interesting thing to do on this website - the same as Newsweek did all those years ago. On the left you will see a shout box. Please leave your comments there - it is completely anonymous - there is no place for you to fill in any phone numbers, or e-mail addresses or anything that can identify who you are - all I’d appreciate form you is your comment, honest and true, about Who YOU think Jesus is.
The comments will be published on this page in an attempt for real believers, passionate Christians, to get a handle on how bad things really are amongst the general population regarding believers - and maybe, just maybe, this might cause us to STEP UP our evangelising and witnessing efforts…
